Day 13 – Rosemarie

Rosemarie, a good friend of mine made it interesting for me with piercings on her face and a shaved head on one side wearing a beautiful green floral dress. I didn’t have the dexterity to to paint any of her piercings other than the ear-ring. Sorry Rosemarie… I do like your accessories!

The colours look strange in the early photos of the work as i took them with my phone camera.

Day 11 – Caroline

I tried to paint Caroline today but I just could find my rythm and found too many distractions. (Susan and Anfernee dancing in my studio).

In the end  took a photo and drew this…

This drawing is available for purchase at my Etsy shop!

Day 9 – Inner demons

Rafael David An Amazing singer song writer and guitarist sat for me today.
The angular and undulating face required more time than usual. I didn’t even get to the hair when we had to call it quits… so we replaced it with horns. much better!

Day 8 – Toni Neill

Thanks Toni for challenging me to paint your feather ear-ring and eyeliner.

I didn’t paint them in I’m sorry as they were giving me trouble with the overall colour scheme.  Overall I’m happy with the result!.

day 6 – Scarlett

So difficult to draw children let alone paint them.   My painting is still a little too hard edged.  I need more time to soften her features and capture her likeness. hopefully with time I get better!

Thank-you young Scarlett for posing for this painting! You’re a wonderful model!

day 5 – Painting a smile

I started out this one wanting to discard it all throughout the process of painting.

Here was the problem.
I’m only working on a 30 x 45 cm board.
The shirt is almost the same colour as the background…
And I had never painted someone smile before!

Why did you have to be so difficult to paint Anfernee?!

day 4 – A stranger on Church st.

I thought I would get out of my comfort zone on this one and lugged my drawing equipment to St. John’s cathedral Parramatta where people passively gather on a Saturday morning.

Pam who I’d just met was kind enough to sit for half an hour. I think she has the most amazing features, especially from her profile.

Anyone wanting to sit for me please private message me so I can give you the terms and conditions!
